Shelby Miller Helped Raise Awareness for STXBP1-Related Disorders during MLB’s Players Weekend

On Saturday, August 17th, Shelby Miller of the Detroit Tigers wore custom cleats in honor of his son, Kyler during the 2024 MLB Players Weekend.

Players Weekend is an annual Major League Baseball where players on all 30 MLB teams wear some atypical baseball uniform elements during regular-season games. The Players' Weekend is designed to give MLB players an opportunity to be themselves authentically and assist their favorite charities while connecting with fans. Each day of the weekend holds its own specific theme. Friday represented fun, allowing players to show off their personalities. Saturday focused on players' favorite charities and the work they do around the community, while Sunday's theme was appreciation.

The STXBP1 community is grateful for Shelby’s help and this huge exposure for our rare genetic disease.
